BLOW TANKS

The Keith Blow Tank System was designed and developed to provide the lowest cost transportation of raw materials with improved working conditions and sanitation in rendering plants and similar installations.

Blow tanks are generally built to hold a full cooker charge. All manual handling is eliminated.
With the material being charged into the cooker from the blow tank through piping, cleanliness and sanitation are maintained and expensive clean-up procedures are avoided.

Air is used for blowing. The pressure required for blowing is determined by pipe friction, bends, elevation, etc. The average  installation requires approximately 500 to 700 KPA.

The Blow Tank has an advantage of an additional cooker in that the operator can grind into the Blow tank when cookers are all full.

Installations are in operation having blow lines 100 metres long, and where the blow tank is two and three floors below the cookers. The time required for blowing a 4500kg load 60 metres is approximately two minutes.

Many sizes available.
